Ramen Square in Tachikawa
Category : Foods
Today, I went to Ramen Square in Tachikawa, Tokyo.

In Ramen Square, there are about seven ramen shops.

It was difficult for me to choose one, because all of ramen seemed to be so delicious! After five-minute deliberation, I went to shop of “Samurai.”

I like Tsuke-men, separated style of ramen between men (noodles) and soup, so I ordered Tsuke-men. My wife ordered standard type of Ramen with Tonkotsu-soup. Tonkotsu means bones of pork. Ramen of this taste is very popular in Japan, especially in Kyusyu.
My wife and I were so satisfied with Tsuke-men and Ramen. We decided to come Ramen Square again soon! You must go there if you go to Tachikawa.

Tattoo of KANJI.
Category : Fashion & Art
Recently, I find some texts about TATOO of Kanji in some Japanese WEB sites. It seems to be cool to get tatoo of Kanji. But, most of the sites makes readers funny, because it's like that 'I saw a foreigner who has got tatoo of STRANGE Kanji!'One of them is as below.
One day, my foreign friend said with proudly smile, 'I've got tatoo of Kanji. This word means very BAD, doesn't it?' He bared his arm and let me see the word. On his arm, there is a word of
, which means RECESSION in English. The Japanese can't make any reply...Another of them as below.
'I hear a cool Kanji from Japanese.' My foreign friend show the tatoo. But I coudn't read it.
It would seem that he asked the Japanese to write it down, and he went to a tatoo artist with the paper. In the paper, there is a Kanji of
, which means BRAVE. As you may understand, the tatoo artist can't read the word and divided the word to three pieces. I'm very sorry for him.I just want to say one thing. If you want to get tatoo of Kanji, it's better for you to understand the shape and meaning. You can't be too careful before you do it. I'm worried about you. In addition, using automatic translation system.
It's a mistake to translate English words of 'One In A Million' to '
' in Japanese Kanji. '
' means 'by any possibility'. The right translation of 'One In A Million' is '
'. No, it's not cool!In Japan, there are many Japanese people who wear shirts with ODD English. When you see such Japanese, I think you feel strange. But they can take off such shirts any time. If you get tatoo of ODD Kanji, you can't take off that like a shirt.
So, I'll introduce some Japanese Kanji which we Japanese think cool. What a nice idea! When you get tatoo of Kanji, take it into account.
First, a cool Kanji for women.

The pronunciation of this Kanji is 'Tsuya'. Or 'Ade' or 'En'. Most of Kanji characters have two or three ways of pronunciation. The meaning is 'amrous' or 'sexy'. If I saw a woman, on whose chest or thigh there is a tatoo of this character, I would be excited!
If you think two characters are better, these have almost same meanings;
(Embi) or
(Yoh'en). These are also cool.However, 'Yoh'en' is a little too erotic. You have to be careful. This word makes me imagine 'a beautiful witch'. I recommend 'Embi' or just 'Tsuya'.
Next, a cool Kanji for men.

The pronunciation is 'Otoko'. In fact, this way of reading is not correct. Japanese Ministry of Education doesn't admit this way of reading and so you can't find it in a dictionary. The usual pronunciation is 'Kan'. When you read 'Otoko' this caracter, it means 'MAN' quite simply. In general, we use a word of
as 'man', the former has a stronger and a wilder atmosphere.And, if you want to get more Kanji, how is this word;
(Akkan), which means 'BAD MAN'. A little too BAD. By the way, 'Kanji' has the character of 'Kan'.So is it useful for you to get tatoo of Kanji? If you like the character above, I think it good to print this page. But you must take extra care for 'upside up'!
And we Japanese have a culture of SHODO, we manage to write Japanese characters bautifully. So, I think it better for you to go to an artist who can draw Kanji. I'll write about this thema because there are so many Kanji. Don't miss it!
